Scouts

Youth Eligibility:

​

  • Must be born between 29 December 2009 and 28 December 2011 (inclusive) (i.e minimum age 16 years and not have had your 18th birthday). 

  • Be an invested Venturer Scout and have completed Outdoor Adventure Skills Camping Stage 4, as a minimum, prior to departure. 

  • A minimum of ten (10) nights camping in a tent within Scouting, with at least three (3) of them consecutive within 12 months prior to departure. 

  • A good level of fitness and strength is required. Participants are expected to walk over 10 km per day and required to carry their own bags. 

  • Must be recommended as suitable to attend by your Venturer Scout Leader and Group Leader and be approved by the Contingent Leader and your Branch Headquarters.

Providing Service

Venturer Scouts who apply will participate as members of the Jamboree Support Team (JST). This is a dedicated service-focused role, where Venturers are appointed to support key operational areas of the event.

 

JST roles may include assisting with activity delivery, programme operations, site services, logistics, catering, admin support, and other essential functions that help the Jamboree run smoothly.

 

Venturer Scouts in the JST contribute meaningfully to the event, gain valuable leadership and teamwork experience, and play an important part in creating a positive experience for all participants.

My Experience

  • The Australian Contingent will depart for New Zealand on 26 December 2026.

  • Participants will spend two days in Auckland, taking part in organised Contingent activities and preparing for the Jamboree.

  • On 28 December 2026, the Contingent will travel to the Mystery Creek Events Centre in Hamilton for the commencement of the Aotearoa New Zealand Scout Jamboree.

  • Venturer Scouts attending as part of the Jamboree Support Team (JST) will begin their assigned service roles, supporting key areas such as activities, catering, logistics, or other operational teams.

  • All Scouts, Venturers, and Leaders will then enjoy an unforgettable Jamboree experience filled with adventure, connection, and growth.

  • The Contingent will return to Australia on 8 January 2027.
