What is Jamboree all about?

What Is the New Zealand Scout Jamboree?

The New Zealand Scout Jamboree is the largest national gathering of Scouts in Aotearoa. It brings together thousands of young people from across New Zealand and around the world for an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, community, and personal growth. Held every three years, it showcases the spirit of Scouting through outdoor challenges, skill-building activities, cultural exchange, and meaningful service.

A Transformational Experience for Scouts

More than just a camp, the Jamboree is a unique opportunity for Scouts aged 11–15 to live, learn, and grow alongside peers in a supportive environment. The program fosters leadership, resilience, and teamwork while offering a rare chance to step outside comfort zones and take on new challenges.

A Global Scouting Community

International contingents, volunteers, and staff join together to create a vibrant, inclusive event that highlights the global reach of the Scouting movement. The Jamboree atmosphere is shaped by collaboration, cultural sharing, and the connections formed across countries and cultures.

Showcasing Aotearoa New Zealand

Each Jamboree is hosted in a different location around New Zealand, celebrating the country’s stunning landscapes and strong community spirit. From trekking through the bush to tackling team challenges—and sharing stories around the campfire—Scouts leave with new skills, lasting friendships, and memories that stay with them for life.
